This Privacy Policy explains how Sayda ("Sayda", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Sayda mobile application (the "App"), a tool for practicing English pronunciation through AI-generated conversations.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

In short: we collect the account details and voice recordings needed to score your pronunciation and track your progress. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your recordings for advertising.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier provided by that service. We use this to create and secure your Sayda account.

b) Voice recordings and learning content

The core function of Sayda is pronunciation practice. When you record yourself, we collect the audio recording of your voice and send it to our servers and to our speech-assessment provider to generate pronunciation scores and coaching feedback. We also store the text of the conversations you practice and the results you generate.

c) Learning progress and usage data

We store your practice history, pronunciation scores, phoneme-level progress, streaks, and similar data so the App can show your progress over time.

d) Device and technical data

We may process limited technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, time zone, and error/diagnostic logs to operate and improve the App.

e) Information stored on your device

Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device unless required to communicate with our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the core service: generate practice conversations, play reference audio, and score your pronunciation.
  • To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
  • To track and display your learning progress, scores, and streaks.
  • To provide AI-generated coaching feedback.
  • To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services We Share Data With

We share only the data necessary for these providers to deliver their function. We do not sell your personal information.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account information and learning progress for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings are retained to provide playback and progress features; you may delete individual recordings within the App where available, or request deletion of your data as described below. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights & How to Delete Your Data

You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data and your account at any time.

  • In the App: open the Profile tab and tap Delete account. This permanently deletes your account along with your recordings, conversations, and progress. This action cannot be undone.
  • By email: send a request to sayda@goodkit.dev with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will verify and process your request, including deleting your account, recordings, and associated learning data.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure on-device token storage, and access controls on our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Sayda is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers and by third-party providers located in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to such transfers, which are carried out with appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
